Dr. Gary Hughes, Superintendent, Midland Schools
Dr. Hughes is Superintendent of the Midland Public Schools. Dr. Hughes has served students as a counselor, director of guidance, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent in the Michigan school districts of Lake Orion, Lawton, Goodrich, Troy, Durand, Brighton and now in Midland. He is a member of many professional organizations including the American Association of School Administrators, Michigan Association of School Administrators, Midland Rotary Club, Midland Area Chamber of Commerce, Midland Tomorrow and its Executive Board, Midland Tomorrow Ambassadors Group, Midland County Human Services Council, Family and Children’s Service of Midland County, Midland County Gang and Violence Prevention Task Force, Saginaw Valley State University’s Board of Fellows, Workforce Development Board - Michigan Works!, and the Midland Public Schools - Arthur C. Frock Endowment Fund Board and the Executive Committee of MI Tech+. Gary and Fran enjoy many cultural and social events throughout the Midland community.
